My name is Mary-Ellen Smith
I have dedicated my career to higher education serving as an International Student Advisor for over 30 years at the University of South Florida. I earned my undergraduate degree in Professional and Technical Writing and a master's degree in Government and International Relations, both from USF. As a published writer, I co-authored chapters in the first edition of "Crisis Management" by NAFSA. With a passion for art, I began writing and illustrating a children's book, "Doodle and the Alley-Oop Bag", inspired by my grandson. My work reflects my love for education and creativity.

My name is Howard A. Smith
I have enjoyed working over 40 years as a Certified Planner (AICP) and a top-grade Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). Both my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude, and my Master's Degree in Urban Planning (transportation concentration) are from UCLA. I am proud of my professional writing and editing skills that have helped me win jobs all over the world. I also have a great sense of humor, so when I was approached to edit "Doodle and the Alley-Oop Bag", I cheerfully agreed.
